TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Ø Safetywedge component  exclusive safety balloon acts as pressure relief valve to prevent overpressurisation of the balloon.

ØContamination shield  Provides a protective barrier against contamination of the catheter  during catheter insertion and manipulation.

ØMedication Lumen permits blood sampling,Fluid and Drug administration and central venous pressure monitoring(7.5 French catheter only)

ØThermistor Connector  Compatible with commonly  used cardiac output computers,also used to monitor pulmonary artery blood temperature

ØPA Distal Lumen Allows mixed venous blood sampling,and measurements of pulmonary artey and pulmonary capillary wedge pressure.

ØDistal Balloon  Provides excellent symmetry and tip coverage fort he safe flotation of the catheter and for pulmonary capillary wedge pressure measurements.

ØCVP Proximal or Injectate Lumen Carries cardiac output injectate solution to rihgt atrium. Accomodates blood sampling,fluid and drug administration and – when attached to a pressure transducer –monitoring of right atrium pressure.

ØCatheter tips often migrate to small arterial branches that are unable to safely accommodate inflated balloons.   

ØVirtually eliminate the risk of pulmonary artey rupture due to balloon overpressurization…. The most of serious complication    associated with PA catheter monitoring.

ØReduce the risk of this potentially dangerous situation by faciliating inflation of the safety wedge device when either the distal balloon encounters abnormal resistance to inflation, or the pressure inside the distal balloon exceeds the normal inflation pressure.

ØThe safetywedge component acts as a pressure relief valve to prevent overpressurization of the distal balloon.
